Prepartum hypophosphatemia manifests between 15 to 20 days before calving.
Signs:
-the cow does not stand up
-complete or incomplete paralysis of the hindlimbs or all four legs
-no muscle tremors
-no loss of appetite
-no coma
Treatment: 100 ml of Fósforo 15-30 diluted into 400 ml of Power Shock by slow intravenous infusion, and 20 ml of Prevenfos by intramuscular or subcutaneous route.

Prepartum hypocalcemia
Prepartum hypocalcemia manifests between 10 to 0 days before calving, with an incidence of 16% in parturient cows.
Signs:
-difficulty to stand up on its own
-difficulty in walking
-the cow stands up and falls
-if rushed, the cow falls
-flanks and hindlimbs tremors
-nervousness and excitability
-inappetence
-no rumination activity
Treatment: 500 ml of Perfil Ca, by slow intravenous infusion. Afterwards administer 100 ml of Prevenrec by subcutaneous route, distributed in two or three injection sites; this dose can be repeated after 18 hours.

Sacroiliac luxation
Signs: only diagnosed by palpation.
Treatment: 20 ml of Prevenrec by subcutaneous route and 10 ml of Dexametasona Burnet (dexamethasone) by intramuscular route.

Signs: only diagnosed by palpation.
Treatment: 1,000 ml of Calcishock by slow intravenous infusion and 2 ml of Biggland (prostaglandin F2alpha synthetic analogue) by intramuscular route.

Ketosis
Ketosis manifests 20 to 0 days before calving. Low incidence.
Signs:
-no rumination activity
-depression
-flanks tremors
-lateral recumbency
Treatment: 1,000 ml of Calcishock and 10 ml of Dexametasona Burnet (dexamethasone) diluted into 400 ml of Power Shock, both by slow intravenous infusion.

Uterine torsion
Uterine torsion can occur during preparation for calving. Only diagnosed by palpation.
Signs:
-dystocia
-excruciating pain
Treatment: Cesarean section. Administer 30 ml of Cefalexina Burnet (cephalexin 20%) by intramuscular route, plus 10 ml of Dexametasona Burnet (dexamethasone) diluted into 400 ml of Power Shock and 1,000 ml of Calcishock by slow intravenous infusion.
